The District Youth Coordinator will meet the District Collector/District Magistrate and get the DACYP re-constituted as per the guidelines and following composition.

ii. Functions

  • To help the NYK in the implementation of its plans and programmes.
  • To help and guide the NYK in promoting an effective youth movement in the district.
  • To help the NYK in the coordination of its activities with other government and non-government departments and agencies.
  • To review and evaluate the work of the NYK and suggest measures for its further improvement.

iii. Frequency of the Meeting :

The DACYP shall meet minimum two times in a year (once in six months). The District Youth Coordinator shall inform the date of the meeting in advance and also follow-up initiatives at District Level. The minutes of the meetings of the DACYP, duly approved by the chairperson, should be sent to the Zonal Director, NYKS.

iv. Tenure of DACYP:

DACYP is a continuous body. The term of non-official members and youth leaders will be one year from the date of nomination and National Youth Corps (NYC) volunteers will be one year (or the date on which the volunteer ship is terminated, whichever is earlier).

v. Roles:

1. Chairperson of the DACYP willpreside over the meeting of DACYP and may advise and help NYKS for establishing viable linkages of NYKS with the District Administration and other Developmental Agencies for the promotion of Youth Development work in the district.
2. District Youth Coordinator , who is the Member secretary of the DACYP will ensure the following:

  • Should be well prepared with the profile, youth programmes, collaborating agencies and nature of youth involvement in the District.
  • Be responsible for convening the meeting of DACYP in consultation and approval of the Chairperson.
  • Prepare the agenda of the meeting of DACYP and inform Zonal Director about the agenda which he/she shall place before the committee.
  • Inform the members of the DACYP, the date, time and venue of the meeting sufficiently in advance.
  • Prepare the minutes of meeting of DACYP and circulate it to all concerned and also to concerned Zonal Director.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the DACYP in accordance with the guidelines and instructions of NYKS Hqrs from time to time. In case of any ambiguity he/she should refer the same to Zonal Office for further necessary action.
